WARNINGS: mal's a soldier and an orphan, who grew up in poverty and became a soldier to ensure he had food on the table. he speaks pretty flippantly about this. additionally, mal's pretty suspicious of and dislikes grisha, the magic users of his world, so there will be canon-flavour prejudice thrown in occiasionally.

β£ Human Amplifier: Mal is an amplifier for Grisha, though he is unaware of this. Mal is a descendant of Ilya Morozova (heβs also the Darklingβs great grand nephew); thus if he touches a Grisha who is using their powers, their powers are amplified. If he were to be killed by a Grisha, they could use a token (such as his bones) taken from him to also amplify their powers without needing his presence.
